16x2 LCD Without I2C

The 16x2 LCD is a popular display used in various Arduino and other embedded projects. This LCD has 2 rows with 16 characters per row. In the version without an I2C module, the LCD is connected to microcontroller pins directly for communication using parallel data transfer. It allows the user to display text, numbers, and special characters.

Working of the 16x2 LCD

The 16x2 LCD uses a 16-bit data bus to send information to the screen. Data is transferred by either sending data to a command register or a data register. The LCD has multiple pins for controlling the screen and sending commands to it.

The working of the LCD involves setting control pins to determine whether data is being sent to the data register or command register. The data pins (D0-D7) send data for each character to be displayed. Additionally, the Enable (E) pin toggles to initiate data transfer.
